This Old House Renovation
This Old House, PBS, WGBH and the Bintliff Family 1993
Mr. Ferla was selected by the producers of the Public Broadcasting System's (PBS) This Old
House television program and the Bintliffs to design and produce a curly Koa Hiki'e
(Hawaiian day bed) and an auton (remote controlled entertainment center) that lifted out of
a built-in Koa consol in the living room. Mr. Ferla appeared in several episodes of This Old
House. These episodes featured Mr. Ferla designing, building and installing these elements.
Mr. Ferla received high praise from nationally renowned master craftsmen and This Old
House star Norm Abrams.
